JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Aug. 27, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- CSX Corp. (NASDAQ:CSX) today announced the recipients of its 32nd annual Chemical Safety Excellence Awards, recognizing 55 customers for outstanding performance in the safe transportation of hazardous materials. The awards honor customers who shipped at least 600 carloads of hazardous materials on the CSX network in 2025 without a controllable hazardous materials release.

"Our customers are essential partners in keeping the economy moving," said Maryclare Kenney, senior vice president and chief commercial officer. "These companies earned this recognition through exceptional safety performance, reflecting a shared commitment to protecting employees and communities across our network."

CSX also recognized customers achieving milestone anniversaries without a controllable hazardous materials release:

"Safety is fundamental to how we operate at CSX," said Mike Cory, executive vice president and chief operating officer. "These customers exemplify that commitment, helping make our entire network more reliable and efficient."

The CSX Chemical Safety Excellence Awards underscore CSX’s belief that strong partnerships and uncompromising safety standards are foundational to rail’s role as the safest mode of land transportation for hazardous materials.
