Teledyne Space Imaging, a leading supplier of space-qualified imaging sensors, focal plane arrays and integrated camera systems, has announced the successful launch of the Meteosat Third Generation Imager-2 (MTG-I2) satellite, which carries a Teledyne Space Imaging CIS111 detector within its Flexible Combined Imager (FCI) instrument. MTG-I2 launched on Ariane 6 at 21:11 BST on August 27 from Europe’s Spaceport in French Guiana.
